Google Introduces Adsense for Games

When the economy screeches to a halt, advertising is the first to go for most companies. Google hopes to counter this negative impact by introducing technology that will see advertisements being included in online video games – after all, when money is tight, why not spend a little to entertain yourself at home without having to go out and blow a whole wad of green? This software by Google is known as Adsense for Games and is currently in beta testing, enabling video, image or text advertisements to be placed at strategic locations – namely the beginning, end or change of level in an online title. Advertisers will be charged using the cost-per-impression or cost-per-click model, where revenue will be shared (ratio is unknown) between Google and game developers/publishers.
