WiMAX iPhone In The Works?

WiMAX iPhone In The Works?

Korean Telecom reported last week that the company has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Apple that will see WiBro connectivity (Korea’s version of WiMAX) appear on both iPods and MacBooks. Could this also be an indicator that WiMAX on the iPhone is a very real possibility in the future? Since WiBro is an early version 802.16e standard, which is better known as Mobile WiMAX today, this means such networks and services are currently being deployed by Sprint and many other companies around the globe. That could very well point towards a WiMAX-enabled iPhone in the near future, starting with Korea.
